Internship Description:
The GCO can benefit from assistance with contract review and preparation; legal research; audit and revision of form documents and templates; development of GCO outreach initiatives; and administrative support of general GCO functions.
Legal Affairs Intern will work closely with the GCO staff on projects to support the work of the Association. Work will include research on relevant topics; monitoring pending state and federal consumer protection lawsuits and legislation; reviewing and revising GCO templates and form documents; participating in Consumer Protection Committee and other appropriate committee calls; provide general administrative support; and other responsibilities as assigned.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Legal Research
- Drafting and Proofreading comments and other legal documents
- Contract Review and Drafting
- Assist with document review and purging
- Participating in calls and webinars
Requirements:
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience with legal research tools, such as Lexis, Westlaw, BestCase, or FastDemocracy
- Ability to Organize and Prioritize Multiple Tasks
- Self-starting attitude
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
Academic Majors (if any preferred): 2L or 3L JD or LLM candidate preferred
Compensation:

Working Conditions
- This position is 20-25 hours/week
- This internship is based in the Washington, DC office
- Interns MUST be in the office on designated team days (3 days a week) and specifically on Wednesdays for cohort touch base.
