MAJOR DUTIES: As a Supervisory Fish & Wildlife Administrator (Deputy Director), you will perform the following duties: Serves as the Deputy Director & exercises full responsibility for SEFSC operations and programs supporting the development and delivery of science advice and management activities in the southeast Region. Supports management of fish and protected resources within the Southeast Region, including, but not limited to, estimation of fish and protected resources population/stock abundance and distribution and fisheries data collection management. Serves as an advocate and effective spokesperson for research programs and activities of the SEFSC. Coordinates and engages the SEFSC in cross-cutting activities of NMFS and NOAA, including involvement on intra-agency, inter-agency and national planning teams, workshops and meetings. Provides oversight to include workload planning and distribution, performance evaluation, advice, counseling, and instruction on administrative and technical matters, personnel hiring, resolution of complaints and grievances, and identification of training needs.
