Are you an experienced project director with good knowledge of the offshore wind turbine industry? Do you have great interpersonal skills and can you develop and encourage multiple project teams of dedicated project team members? Then you might be the Project Director we are looking for at Vestas.

 

Region APC > Customer Project Execution - APAC > Customer Project Execution - Offshore APAC

 

You will be part of our Project Management in Offshore Construction which comprises a team of highly motivated colleagues, responsible for project execution including installation and commissioning of offshore wind turbines in the Asia Pacific region.

 

In addition to project execution, our team also supports the rest of the Vestas' value chain with our knowledge of construction projects. Therefore, you will have great opportunities to spar with other parts within Construction, and many of your tasks will also require cross-organisational collaboration.

 

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the projects in your portfolio, ensuring that they are delivered on time, to budget and to the required safety and quality standards. You will be responsible for leadership and management of the Project Management department in the most value-adding way by engaging motivated professionals with the right set of competencies and skills. You will actively develop relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and back office. You will guide and encourage members of the project team to develop their skills and competencies.

 

You will also be responsible for:

  • Actively support other areas of the business requiring specialist construction knowledge e.g. Sales.
  • Motivate team to engage in continuous improvement throughout the company.
  • Encourage open and transparent cross functional collaboration across departments.
  • Overall authority and responsibility for the Project.
  • Ultimately accountable for effective Human Resources Management on the Project, and r responsible for setting, developing and motivating the Project Team.
  • Communicate effectively with the Customer to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions and strategies.
  • Recognize and solve potential high-level problems with key stakeholders within other areas of the company.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain sound business practices in conjunction with the relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Project Management department in all aspects of the project life cycle
  • Effectively communicate relevant information to the Head of Offshore Construction
  • Handle challenges directly, using appropriate discretion, and respect for the individual
  • Lend expertise to internal teams and task forces
  • Provide cultural awareness to the team for them to understand the diversity between themselves and other people, countries, organizations, companies, etc.

 

Qualifications

  • Relevant education (e.g. Engineering or Contractual background, Project Manager education or similar)
  • Product understanding and awareness• 8-10 years experience from similar industry and from project management of large scale projects
  • Risk Management competences
  • Commercial acumen
  • Contractual understanding
  • Awareness of cultural diversity
