Project summary
The Rare Plant and Pollinator Intern positions purpose is to assist the Bureau of Land Management’s Ecologist/Botanist with rare plant and pollinator monitoring, surveying, NEPA, and other field work. As a part of Rocky Mountain Youth Corps (RMYC), Individual Placements (IP) are encouraged to attend professional development and life skills trainings that RMYC offers regularly.
Opportunity description
You will conduct rare plant surveys for proposed actions, conduct surveys for milkweed and monarch monitoring, serve as a crew leader with a team of volunteers, analyze the effects of management activities on natural resources for environmental assessments, assist in developing a citizen science program for pollinator monitoring, utilize data collection technology, conduct surveys on western bumble bee habitat and assist in bat acoustic monitoring.

Requirements and qualifications
Requirements
18-30 years old. Eligible for AmeriCorps Term of Service. High school diploma/GED required
Preferred qualifications
Bachelor's degree, relevant experience, and strong written and verbal communication skills preferred. See position description.
